When rescuers at the Wanderer’s Rest Humane Association arrived at the Canastota, New York shelter on Monday morning, they found a senior Great Pyrenees tied to a plastic sled and abandoned with a heartbreaking note that simply read “over 1o years old, can no longer walk”.
Now, Perry is unrecognizable. he’s such a lot happier and gets around with ease. The shelter posted a photograph of Perry the day they rescued him, and he has since gained support from thousands of individuals everywhere the country.
Shelter workers wanted to remind folks that there are resources out there to assist them if they feel they will not look after an animal, which abandonment isn’t the solution .
As for who may be taking Perry in, his physical therapist will be fostering him. That could eventually turn into Perry’s forever home.
Perry’s former owner who abandoned him, a 60-year old man, from Cazenovia, who has been charged with failur providing veterinary care.
Watch Perry’s amazing transformation!
