The poor dog was unlucky enough, to be at the wrong place and wrong time. The pup was wandering around trying to find his lost family, when suddenly  his paw stuck in a trap that was illegally set by an unknown individual.

A good Samaritian who spotted the injured dog , called Pima Animal Care’s Animal Protection Team.

Officer Kristen Weigand went straight away to assist the terrified pup. However she didn’t know exactly how to remove it from the dog’s paw and didn’t want to hurt the pooch further. So she rushed her to a local clinic, where they carefully removed the trap.

X-rays revealed that there were thankfully no broken bones, just some cuts on the skin. The paw was treated and the dog is expected to make a full recovery.

Pima Animal Care is currently caring for the dog, now named ‘Trapper,’ while he is on stray hold. They aren’t quite sure whether he was wandering around as stray or if he belongs to someone. But the assume that he indeed belonged to someone. They are hoping that an owner will come forward so this poor pup can reunite with his family.
