A San Diego Humane Society Officer responded to a complaint in San Marcos about a little puppy found in a memorabilia box at a store’s entryway, says ilovemydogsomuch.

A client noticed the 6-7-week-old Chihuahua puppy resting in the box beside a garbage can and informed a store staff, who phoned the humane organization for assistance.

The puppy was was cold and wet, as well as underweight and sluggish. This puppy was obviously in bad shape and required immediate medical assistance as quickly as possible.

The police transported the puppy to the humane society’s Escondido Campus for treatment, but her prognosis was not good, and veterinarians agreed that compassionate euthanasia would be the best option to stop her suffering.

The case was immediately investigated by the San Diego Humane Society’s Humane Law Enforcement.
A car drew up to the storefront, and a man got out of the backseat and entered. When he returned to his car, the female driver entered the business. While she was inside, the male suspect removed a box from the car, placed it next to the trash can, and returned to the vehicle. When the female driver returned to the car, they drove away.

In this case, a $1,000 reward has been offered for any information leading to an arrest.

Fortunately, the puppy’s apparent owner has come forward and is now collaborating with the cops as the investigation continues. Because the investigation is still underway, no additional information can be released at this time.
