Hope For Paws received a report about two Poodles who were living beneath a major Los Angeles highway. The rescue squad responded to the scene and discovered a brother and sister battling to survive in the sewer, reports ilovemydogsomuch.

They approached the abandoned animals, only to discover that the tough existence on the streets had tainted them. To avoid the strangers, the Poodles dashed into the dirty tunnel. The rescuers, however, would not budge and pursued them into the dark tunnel.

The siblings felt hemmed in, and the brother boldly moved in to protect his sister from the unknown. The rescuers felt terrible for the shivering dogs and provided them food in order to earn their confidence. They were able to rescue the canines from the rubbish pile by using gentle reassurance and stroking.

They were rushed to the animal clinic and given the attention they need. They were cleansed, and their filthy fur was shaved. Soon, the couple was back to their cheerful, carefree selves, cuddling and playing with the humans around them.

Now named Cola and Pepsi, they fill the shelter with their happy smiles. They are up for adoption and we hope they find their perfect forever home soon enough! Thank you Hope For Paws, for being such determined heroes!
