An unfortune happened to Jessica Woodruff’s barn, when it caught ablaze after a infrared lamp that was meant to stay the animals warm malfunctioned. Sadly four goats, a pig, and a litter of seven puppies died inside. Jessica’s dog Daisy tried to go and save her babies but it was impossible since the hearth had spread too quickly.
Daisy, a Great Pyreness/Border Collie mix , was devasted. She would everyday go at the barn where she last saw her puppies, sit there all day and refused to eat or drink. It seemed that the poor mama was depressed. Jessica didn’t want to see her precious Daisy suffering so she came up with an idea.
Jessica and her sister posted on their Facebook page that they are trying to find orphaned puppies that they might foster. Luckily a woman was also searching for a surrogate for her eight puppies after their Mom had died parturition .
The two women then decided that it would be an amazing thing, to combine these two tragedies and bring some happiness for the mama dog and the orphan puppies. Daisy took them in and cared for several weeks until they were weaned. All of the puppies were then returned to their owner, apart from the runt of the litter, Benji.
