According to ilovemydogsomuch.com, Juniper the Pit Bull was found abandoned in San Francisco. She had attack scars and had her teeth filed down so she couldn’t defend herself. Throughout her nine years, the 9-year-old pooch had been tortured by the owners of the dog fighting ring.
Maggie Hull, 27, immediately came forward with her desire to adopt Juniper when she learned that a local shelter had offered to take Juniper in to rebuild her health. But unfortunately, luck wasn’t on Juniper’s side.
Just 5 months after being adopted, Juniper suffered a spinal stroke and got paralyzed from waist down. She spent a year getting surgeries and rehab therapies, and eventually regained her nerve function. But one of her legs had to be amputated due to complications.
Juniper had also become incontinent, and she needed to be on doggie diapers all the time. She was on heavy antibiotics and often developed infections. Juniper’s life was unfair from every side, but Maggie refused to be a silent witness to the dog’s pain. She got Juniper a wheelchair for support and encouraged her to embrace life again.
From the day she got her wheelchair, Maggie was able to observe a remarkable change in Juniper. The senior dog discovered an adventurous side to her personality, and began exploring the world with a newfound zest for life.
Juniper has been through so much in her life, but today she only counts her blessings because she’s happy and always on the go. As a result of Maggie’s angelic intervention, Juniper flourished despite the odds against her!
