A dog crossed the road alone in the rain as volunteers headed to Mladenovac, Serbia, to a dog shelter.
Rescuers approached the dog and it ran off the road and into the bushes. She showed signs of aggression, but her fear caused her to act this way. They tried to coax her out with food, and after much trial and patience, the dog finally decided she would trust them.
When they took her to the shelter, they decided to name her Lady since she allowed them to pet her and even pick her up and put her in their car.
Thankfully, she was given a clean bill of health and the best care and love. She is now feeling better and no longer trapped in the downpour.
She was adopted by a family just one month later, and has a large backyard to play in, a warm bed to sleep in, and can now run around with her new puppy brother.
