Rescue Dog With One Leg Amputated Adopted By A Veteran Who Has The Same Injury

It doesn’t matter how different a dog looks. Dogs with special needs need more attention and love, so they just need someone who knows what they need.

Sometimes these dogs find soulmates who have been through the same things they have. That was the case recently after a vet who lost a leg adopted a special rescue dog who had lost a leg as well.

A stray German shepherd named Kane was hit by a car and seriously broke his right leg. When he came to the Inland Valley Humane Society in Pomona, California, his leg had to be amputated. But Kane didn’t let that stop him from losing a leg. According to NBC Los Angeles, the three-legged dog still walks as if he has all four legs.

The animal shelter is currently looking for a permanent home for Kane. It’s not always easy to find a home for a disabled dog – prospective adoptive parents often overlook them in favor of “normal” dogs.

As Dane Orozco was hunting for a new pet at the shelter, he quickly realized that Kane was perfect for him. In fact, both of them had lost a right leg, which they had in common.

One of the reasons Dane wanted a pet was to cheer him on after he lost a leg while on duty, according to the Inland Valley Humane Society.

“I’ve dealt with a lot of depression, so my boss said what do you like? What would make you happy? I told him, “I’ve always had dogs, but I haven’t had a dog in a long time,” he told NBC Los Angeles.

When she saw Kane, happily standing on three legs, she knew it should be. “As soon as I saw him, I fell in love with him,” Dane said. “I felt this immediate connection with him. Look at him, he’s perfect. ”

“I just had to catch it. I know the feeling of being overlooked by that. ”

Dane drives Kane to work, so when Kane needs support, he is there to provide it. According to NBC News, Kane now has a wonderful new owner. The Humane Society is thrilled that Kane found such a perfect home.

“We wish them all the best for their future adventures,” wrote the shelter.

Kane and Dane met at a university, and it’s an amazing friendship. Having a friend who has the same disability as you can help your self-esteem, and it’s wonderful that these two will always have each other.
