While we cannot restrict the stray animal population, we may strive to aid in any way we can. What bothers us the most is that many people walked by this unfortunate puppy for days and did nothing to help him. He laid there, unwell and alone, vulnerable to the elements, says ilovemydogsomuch.

Some ‘kinder’ people left him food, but he was still not safe on his own.

As the food deteriorated in front of him, the forlorn dog curled up in a cardboard crate. The cold made him shiver. It was heartbreaking beyond words. Fortunately, someone with a kind heart showed up. She scooped him up and drove him directly to the veterinarian. Helu was also given a name by her.

The veterinarian ran multiple tests on Helu. He was suffering from pulmonary effusion.

Helu was subjected to a battery of tests by the veterinarian. He was afflicted with pulmonary effusion. It’s a dangerous condition, and he had to spend many days at the medical facility. Helu would be well-cared for, according to the vet. He kept his word!

Helu’s savior returned a few days later to bring him home. Helu has improved dramatically! He can walk with a leash. He recalls his saviour and is relieved to be reunited with him. It is at this point that his savior chooses to legally adopt him. She can’t bear the thought of her existence without him.

Helu will never have to be concerned about his next meal or if he will have a roof over his head. He would always have a lot of affection because of a wonderful woman who would never abandon him.
