Queen was mistreated, used, and used in every manner conceivable, and when she was considered “useless,” she was thrown away like trash and allowed to die.

Thankfully, a small group of rescuers banded together to save her, and she was taken to Viktor Larkill of Let’s Adopt, a Dutch animal rescue that heals and rehabilitates abandoned and wounded animals from all over the globe, according to ilovemydogsomuch.tv.

Queen is a member of the Hound family’s Ibizan Hound breed, which is a relatively rare breed. Let’s Adopt hurried her to a vet facility right away since she did not deserve to be abused.

Vets assumed she had damaged her back since she couldn’t stand up, but an x-ray revealed she had a high level of Leishmania, which had progressed to Polyneuropathy.

Leishmaniasis is a parasitic illness spread by the bite of a sandfly. If left untreated, it has the potential to worsen (as it did in Queen’s case) and become deadly.

Her Leishmaniasis had been kept untreated for so long that it had destroyed several peripheral nerves, resulting in polyneuropathy.

The creatures who did this to her toiled her until she was sick, then abandoned her in the fields to die.

Despite the fact that her prospects were grim, vets and volunteers refused to give up on her. Queen was still eating on her own and appeared to be in high spirits despite her ordeal.

Let’s Adopt continued her treatment, but unfortunately her body wasn’t reacting to it.

“Her owner allowed her to decay to the point of no return,” Larkill wrote on his blog. “I can’t possibly understand how someone can watch a dog crumble to this point without doing anything about it, but that’s what they did.”

Sadly, Queen died, but her final days were spent surrounded by love and care. She was surrounded by individuals who cared about her, and she was able to depart this world knowing that there are good people out there who would never abandon her like the monsters before her.
