You don’t see dog rescues like this every day, for sure!
Malka wandered the Hilo island after becoming lost from his house. She was found thanks to a GPS tracker that was attached to her collar and enabled her owner to locate her.
They were astonished to learn that Malka had plunged 25 feet into a neighboring volcano’s crack and was utterly afraid.
It would be difficult to save the dog, but they knew precisely the man to do it.
Kawika Singson, a Hawaiian YouTuber, is well-known on the island for photographing exploding volcanoes while getting up up and personal with them.
Singson quickly drove the 100 miles to attempt to save the dog after receiving a text about Malka.
Singson met Cody, Malka’s owner, and other individuals who were there to assist when he got there. Singson skillfully entered the volcanic fissure using climbing gear.
Singson was determined to rescue the life of this sick pup even though he was aware that it would be harmful due to the high temperatures and poisonous fumes.
Singson’s headcam recorded the entire rescue, and it shows him approaching the dog. Malka huddled between rock plates while sobbing in terror.
Fortunately, Singson ultimately caught Malka by the collar and fastened her in a safety harness before climbing back up toward her owner.
Malka was uninjured and grateful to be alive after falling 25 feet and being without food or drink for two days.
