Cindy Nash, the loving founder of Nicholas’ Pet Haven in Texas, acted quickly after learning of a distress call regarding a weak puppy.

Cindy was notified by a worried neighbor who lived across a busy road from a cemetery that a little dog had been living by the wayside for the last year.

With the puppy becoming more independent, there was increasing concern that she would cross the street and put herself in danger. The woman implored Cindy to save the canine.

A rescue squad was sent out right away. While they were getting ready to use traps to entice the dog, they came upon Dr. Harshivinderjit S. Bains. He kept a watchful eye on the dog, Truvy.

“It was during the building of his clinic that he became fond of Truvy and provided her with shelter,” he said.

Alongside her, he had faced the cold winter to make sure she was well-fed and cozy. However, Cindy recalled that Truvy had always kept her distance.

Cindy was taken aback when, later that day, she saw Truvy quietly waiting inside one of the traps. Cindy brought Truvy into her house based on her instincts.

However, Truvy shot into her arms as she gingerly unlocked the cage. The event came as a wonderfully unexpected gift.

Cindy gave Truvy a relaxing bath and made plans for him to see a veterinarian the following day. Here, they discovered something very important: Truvy had been microchipped.

Figuring out the details of the microchip, Cindy called the delighted family. They lost Truvy not long after they moved to Texas.

They had left Truvy in their yard without realizing how little she was. Truvy had jumped at the chance to escape past the iron gate and start her adventure.

Truvy’s owner, Amy Logan, recalled, “We searched the area extensively and kept every possible clinic, animal shelter, and rescue group informed about her.”

Truvy had been searching for her guardian angel, Cindy, for a torturous 13 months. A touching reunion resulted from the wisdom to keep the microchip details current.

It took her a moment to realize who I was. But she obviously knew our house when we got there. “She was back where she belonged,” Amy stated with tears in her eyes.

Dr. Bains was thrilled to hear about Truvy’s touching reunion, even if he was a little disappointed that they had not legally adopted her. Amy conveyed her sincere appreciation for his quiet watchfulness over Truvy during her wandering years.
