This 1965 Ford Mustang Coupe Was Purchased By Its Current Owner Following A Number Of Upgrades


In 2015, the current owner of this 1965 Ford Mustang coupe acquired it after various improvements were made. These enhancements included a fresh coat of red paint with white stripes and the installation of a 289ci V8 engine paired with a four-speed manual transmission. The vehicle also boasts features like white vinyl upholstery, a Hurst shifter, air conditioning, a vintage-style stereo system, and a CD changer mounted in the trunk. It rides on 15″ Magnum 500-style wheels and features front disc brakes. The seller is now offering this Mustang coupe on behalf of the owner, complete with a clean Florida title in the owner’s name.

The seller reports that the car was refinished in 2014 in its current combination of red with white over-the-top and lower bodyside stripes. Additional details include fog lights, chrome bumpers, 289 badging, and dual exhaust outlets that exit through the rear fascia.

Legendary Wheels 15″ Magnum 500-style wheels are mounted with 215/60 Sailun Atrezzo SH408 tires that show production codes from 2023. Braking is handled by front discs and rear drums.

The cabin houses front bucket seats and a rear bench trimmed in white vinyl with a debossed pony motif, while woodgrain trim accents the dashboard and center console. Appointments air conditioning, a Hurst shifter, a retro-style radio, and a 10-disc CD changer mounted in the trunk.

Instrumentation consists of a 140-mph speedometer and gauges for fuel level, oil pressure, amperage, and coolant temperature. The five-digit odometer shows 26k miles, approximately 300 of which were added under current ownership. Total mileage is unknown.

The 289ci V8 was installed prior to the current owner’s acquisition and is equipped with a Cobra-branded air cleaner assembly and valve covers. A Holley carburetor is fitted, and the seller states that a revised camshaft and headers are installed.

The chassis number stamped into the fender has been painted over and is shown above, and the current Florida title lists the VIN as 5R07T251146. A reproduction trim tag is affixed to the driver’s door and displays a different VIN containing 10 digits.
