Modified 1955 Chevrolet Bel Air Nomad

This 1955 Chevrolet Bel Air Nomad station wagon was modified during previous ownership and was purchased by the seller in 2008. The car is finished in blue-green over a black and gray interior and is powered by a fuel-injected 350ci V8 paired with a four-speed automatic transmission. Modifications are said to include a powder-coated frame, replacement bumpers, an upgraded suspension, a 10-bolt rear end, 17″ American Racing Torq Thrust wheels, power-assisted four-wheel disc brakes, a reupholstered interior, power-adjustable front seats, power windows, a Vintage Air air-conditioning system, and an aftermarket stereo system. This Nomad is now offered with a clean Oklahoma title in the seller’s name.

The body was reportedly refinished in blue-green by Carolina Rod Shop in Piedmont, South Carolina in 2002. Features include chrome trim, wraparound rear windows, and a hinged rear tailgate. The seller states that replacement one-piece bumpers were recently installed.

17″ American Racing Torq Thrust wheels wear Kumho Ecsta ASX tires. Power-assisted four-wheel disc brakes and an upgraded suspension with Bilstein shocks were reportedly installed by Carolina Rod Shop.

The interior is upholstered in black and features a body-color steering wheel and dashboard, an aftermarket center console with cup holders, power windows, a Vintage Air air-conditioning system, and an aftermarket stereo. The seller states that power-adjustable front seats were recently installed and that the carpets, door panels, headliner, and rear seat cover were recently replaced.

An aftermarket gauge cluster includes a 7k-rpm tachometer, 120-mph speedometer, and gauges for fuel level, oil pressure, water temperature, and voltage. The digital odometer shows 5k miles. True mileage is unknown.

The 350ci V8 was reportedly sourced from a 1996 Corvette and was installed by Carolina Rod Shop. Features include an aluminum radiator, braided stainless steel hoses, polished accessories, an aftermarket engine air intake, an Optima battery, and body-color fuel rail covers.

Power is routed to the rear wheels through a four-speed GM 4L60 automatic transmission and a 10-bolt rear end. The frame was reportedly powder coated, and a dual exhaust system is fitted.
