25-Year-Old Cat Overjoyed to See Her Favorite Human Again

Losing a pet is an emotional experience that leaves a lasting void in the lives of their owners. Whether a pet has passed away or simply wandered off never to return, the sense of loss is profound and difficult to overcome.

For those whose pets have died, there may be some sense of closure, knowing they have crossed the rainbow bridge.

However, for pet owners whose furry friends go missing, there is a lingering hope and many unanswered questions about their well-being and whereabouts.

This glimmer of hope kept Alison and Dean Lyng searching for their beloved 25-year-old deaf cat, Kizzy, who disappeared one day without a trace. Days turned into weeks, and their despair grew as there was no sign of her.

They were on the verge of giving up, clinging to the faint hope of a miraculous reunion.

In late May of this year, a frail and malnourished senior cat was discovered near a gutter. She was infested with fleas and had been surviving on scraps. Natasha McPhee found her and took her to a local shelter, where she received much-needed care. Her long claws had hindered her movement, but the shelter staff were determined to nurse her back to health.

Initially believed to be a stray due to the lack of a microchip, the shelter named the cat Moose. Despite this, Natasha had a hunch that Moose might have an owner missing her. She posted a photo of Moose in the Facebook group “Animals Lost and Found in Kent,” hoping to reach anyone who might recognize her.

Alison stumbled upon the post and immediately identified Moose as her long-lost Kizzy. Overwhelmed with joy and disbelief, she reached out to the shelter. After two long years of uncertainty, they were finally going to be reunited with their cherished pet. The shelter confirmed Kizzy’s health, and once she was declared fit to leave, Alison and Dean welcomed her back into their lives.

Natasha updated her post to share the happy news that Moose, now known again as Kizzy, had found her way back to her rightful owners. Remarkably, Kizzy, who is the equivalent of 116 human years old, had survived the harsh conditions of the outdoors and returned home safely.

Alison captured the heartwarming reunion on video, showing Kizzy immediately recognizing Dean’s scent and crying out in recognition. Dean was overjoyed to hold Kizzy once more, a moment they had almost given up on ever experiencing.

He Microwaved His Ex-Girlfriend's Kitten to Death and Threatened To Kill Her Next

A horrific case of animal cruelty and domestic violence unfolded last year in Fargo, North Dakota. The details are disturbing and tragic. The abuser was sentenced to prison, but we must ensure he never terrorizes another person or animal again.

“It’s absolutely brilliant to see her again, but what were the chances?” Alison marveled. “For two years, she’s been living with no home and no care. Most cats don’t get to that age indoors, let alone outside on their own.”

This story serves as a testament to the enduring bond between pets and their owners and the incredible resilience of animals. It’s a reminder that even in the face of uncertainty, hope can lead to heartwarming reunions.
