Mary’s family, who is from the U.S. , volunteered at an animal shelter that keeps nearly 4,000 dogs in Ankara, Turkey.
Shelters are becoming underfunded and overcrowded in Turkey, as dogs are rarely euthanized there.
They adopt many dogs, most are sick, and a few are not ready for treatment.
A group of sick dogs that recently saved were affected by distemper that causes loss of coordination and seizures, and affects the medulla spinalis and brain in its later stages.
Faith, the primary dog of Mary’s family, was not ready to walk when she was ill, but with care and love she was completely healed and visited ta forever range in the US.
