The 3-month-old Pitbull was rescued after being spotted by Sacramento firefighters on their way to a call.
Mike Thawley and his crew spotted the poor pup was out in the rain left tied to a tree, suffering from mange. The dog was in a terrible shape and you could see the pain in her eyes. Disturbed from what Mike saw, he decided to take her to the firehouse.
After bringing her in the firehouse, they gave her a warm bath and wrapped her on a blanket. The crew members suggested that it would be better if they took the dog to a local shelter, where she could be properly cared for and rehoused.
Despite knowing she was in the best hands at the shelter, Thawley couldn’t stop thinking about “Chunkie”, and the following day, he returned to the shelter to pay her a visit.
It was pretty clear that Thawley and Chunkie had a special bond with each other.
Not long after, Thawley decided to adopt the little pup, after 4 months of waiting, Chunkie finished her mange treatment and was able to go home with the Thawley.
Thawley’s family is very happy for having a new lovely member in the family!
We wish them all the best
