Michigan Humane Society investigators were warned after a concerned citizen found an malnourished dog in a trash can near 7 Mile and Southfield Road in Detroit.
When they managed to save her, they realized she had recently given birth. They looked for puppies around her, but unfortunately they could not find them, writes ilovemydogsomuch.
She is now recovering at the humane society, but seems very sad without her babies. When she returns to healthy health, MHS will help her find the perfect forever home.
Meanwhile, humane society refuses to give up on finding her puppies, but they know how hard it will be, especially since the dog mom could have come from anywhere, not just from Detroit.
It’s very possible that someone dumped the mama dog once she gave birth, and then kept her puppies to sell.
