When this puppy was abandoned at the Eastbourne train station in the United Kingdom, he drew the attention of onlookers because he looked to be sobbing. post.bark writes
His photo was taken, and it quickly went viral. With only a dish of water, the puppy was left alone. “The dog was found crying and longing for his owner after patiently waiting by the railing for more than an hour on February 11 in the hope that he would return,” according to The Daily Mail.
One witness at the station claimed to have seen a guy tying up the dog and then rushing away in a cab. When no one came forward to claim the puppy, Eastbourne’s dog wardens took him in and placed him in one of their kennels. Despite the fact that the puppy was microchipped, when the chip’s contacts were contacted, they disputed ownership.
The dog has subsequently been dubbed Gazza because, according to ITV, “he’s not too manly to weep.” This is a reference to Paul Gascoigne, a famous British soccer player and team manager who sobbed during the 1990 World Cup semi-final. Since putting Gazza into custody, Eastbourne Council has received a rush of calls and letters from individuals who want to adopt the puppy. According to a representative for the Council, the Council got 50 phone calls and 150 emails from hoomans begging him to join their family only yesterday. Hopefully, Gazza will be reunited with his forever family soon! Contact the Eastbourne Borough Council if you have any information on those who abandoned him or would want more adoption information.
