ilovemydogsomuch writes about a woman who came across a dog laying on the side of the road.
She believed he had died since he wasn’t moving. She began to cry, but the dog’s paw moved as she cried. When she peered closer, she noticed that his chest was rising and sinking, but just slightly. The poor puppy was gasping for air.
The abandoned puppy was on the verge of death. The woman requested assistance from a friend. She hoped and prayed that her buddy would arrive on time. A friend of the lady volunteers at a local shelter. He’d know just what to do! He was taken aback when he arrived and saw the dog. He couldn’t even wake up since the dog was so feeble.
To move the dog to their vehicle, the man and his companion utilized a sheet, similar to a gurney. They dashed over to the veterinary clinic. The veterinarian and his team got to work immediately away. They were worried about the dog, who was still trying to wake up. The results of his blood tests indicated why. He was quite anemic due to malnutrition. He was also dehydrated and suffering from the beginnings of hypothermia.
The vet gave him IV fluids first and then made arrangements for a blood transfusion. They had to get his hemoglobin up or he wouldn’t survive. Within a few days, the dog made tremendous progress. He wasn’t even able to sit up and now he was standing, eager to eat a real meal!
For a long time, this poor youngster had not seen real food. He ate it all and then demanded more! The veterinarian is overjoyed that the dog, who was on the verge of death, is now on the mend.
