Peruvian citizens have recently been dealing with a severe drought. Many of people died, and thousands more were forced to flee their homes owing to a lack of drinking water. For months, the homeless dogs living on the streets had to contend with a same terrible situation.

We watch a lonely homeless canine seeking for water on a very hot day in this video footage absorbed by the city of Lima, Peru’s funds. As a result of the terrible water scarcity, the city’s open water supplies are depleted, and those that remain are tainted with muck. This vulnerable creature is forced to retrieve a discarded pail and seek help on the streets after being thirsty for days.

Although we see that a compassionate householder has already put some water into the bucket, the canine hopes that he would travel the region and collect even more for future use. One of the witnesses pet pets the struggling dog and tries to get him to drop the pail, but the clumsy animal refuses to give up his improvised water bowl.

This story pulls at our emotions in such a powerful way. While this beloved dog’s agony and uncertainty are obvious, the sad reality is that many homeless animals face similar torment for food and water on a daily basis. Let us all do our part and keep an eye out for the street animals in our midst.
