He was known as the dog that would greet anyone who was throwing away their trash by jumping up on their car.
Animal rescue is one of the most difficult tasks in the world, and shelters and rescue groups are always working hard to save the unfortunate animals! This tale about a poor sweet puppy living on a rubbish dump exemplifies this wonderfully.
Hercules, the dog, would come up to anybody who came to dump their stuff, begging them to take him home with them, but no one did! According to Amanda Cunefare, a volunteer for RWB (Rescuers Without Borders), a dog rescue group in Turkey, there were over 800 dogs living in deplorable conditions with little food and extreme cold!
Before she was four years old, Gocke Erdogan, a young Turkish woman, began feeding the dog at the garbage. When feasible, the kind woman attempted to rehome them. Fortunately, RWB teamed up with Gocke to assist the stray dogs.
Thankfully, they were able to save and rehome 47 dogs. They want to rehome them all, but it will be difficult. Cunefare took Hercules in and wanted to adopt him; happily, she was able to move him to the United States and bring him to live with her.
