Andrea Athie was driving along a lonely road when she came across an injured “homeless dog” screaming for assistance. ilovemydogsomuch writes
Andrea came to a halt and rescued the frail dog, only to discover that it was suffering from a fractured leg. Andrea recognized the dog had been ran over and rushed him to the nearest vet facility for assistance.
The appreciative “dog” snuggled with his savior and showered her with kisses on the way to the clinic. Andrea was surprised to learn that the puppy wasn’t even a dog when she arrived at the clinic. Andrea discovered that the shy and calm infant was actually a wild coyote after visiting the veterinarian.
The coyote was in bad shape, and his health was deteriorating due to several internal traumas. To provide the ailing coyote the attention it needed, the vet clinic contacted a wildlife rehabilitator. Sadly, despite his best efforts, the coyote succumbed to his injuries and died after five days at the wildlife hospital.

Andrea is heartbroken, and her memories of the pleasant car journey with the kind coyote are haunting her. It tears our hearts to learn that our animals receives no timely medical attention.
