One of the most devoted animals that may offer you unconditional affection is a dog. They are not only devoted to the families they live with, but also guardians of them.
Recently, a German Shepherd nearly lost his life while defending its owner from being robbed. The event happened in South Africa when Gino Wensel and his dog, Duke, went for a stroll, according to Mail Online.
But a few moments later, he saw a guy coming toward him with a knife in his hand. Duke started snarling at the thief as soon as he spotted him. To halt it, the thief severely injured Duke by stabbing him in the brain.
While the thief fled after being scared away by Duke’s persistent barking, the latter refused to back down and collapsed in a pool of blood. Before realizing the warrior was still alive, Wensel believed he had lost his dog.
With the aid of his buddy, he transported Duke to the Animal Welfare Society of South Africa (AWSSA). Fortunately, the vet at the clinic saved Duke after the knife’s blade almost missed his brain by millimeters. Duke’s therapy was provided free of charge by the physician because Wensel was out of a job and living on a very tight budget.
The hospital’s medical staff praised the miracle of saving Duke and returning him to Gino, saying, “Their relationship is very precious.
