The ducklings were abandoned last week when their mother disappeared. The staff of the Castle was concerned for their safety, but Fred decided to watch after them.
They receive tender attention and comfort from Fred.
These nine ducklings clamber on Fred’s back as he watches them swim in the moat. Additionally, they frequently take naps on the grass with Fred.
Just a few more weeks of Fred’s attentiveness would be plenty. The ducks will have grown up and be prepared to establish themselves on the castle grounds by that time.
He is now pleased to be a stay-at-home dad raising the nine baby ducklings, according to Fred’s owner, who stated that they adore him to bits.
