After getting a call about him, Animal Aid Unlimited rushed out to rescue an old dog who had been trapped in a sewer.
In an effort to find some type of pain relief, the elder child had passed out in a sewage drain. His severe wound was erupting with maggots.
The dog was arthritic, nearly toothless, and had a large wound on his back.
They carefully retrieved the unfortunate boy from the drain to transport him to the veterinary clinic since he was in excruciating pain and was elderly and frail.
They administered painkillers and an IV to treat the maggot issue.
They were relieved that the dog was eating and that his wound had healed entirely in a matter of weeks.
Without assistance, he wouldn’t have had much time left to live.
