1957 Ford Thunderbird ‘E-Code’ Captured The Hearts Of Classic Car Enthusiasts At First Sight

The Ford Thunderbird was introduced in 1954 as a luxurious “personal car” in response to the Chevrolet Corvette. It had a V-8 engine and all-metal construction, and outsold the Corvette in its first year.

The 1957 model year brought a redesign with a longer, smoother body and canted fins, and over 21,000 were sold. The 1957 Thunderbird offered here is one of 1,499 with a 312-cubic-inch V-8 engine and a three-speed manual transmission with overdrive.
