Unleashing the Legend: 1957 Chevrolet Bel Air Nomad Station Wagon

This 1957 Chevrolet Bel Air Nomad station wagon has been with the current owner since November 1995. It had a body off restoration in 1987 by Dave Gottchaulk of Toledo, Ohio and retains the correct numbers original 283 V8 engine. The car was primarily used as show car for parades from 1996 to 2003 by current owner then and has been in storage in a heated garage for the last 15 years. The chrome remains in good condition but the paint now has some flaking. This Nomad was recently serviced and is now offered in running condition with a clean Illinois title.

The upholstery is two-tone black and red and remains in very good condition according to the seller. There are 0299 miles showing on the odometer and the restorer claimed car had 14k miles at time of restoration in 1987. The seller has owned the vehicle for 22 years and has added an estimated 2500 miles. Currently the odometer and speedometer do not work and the horn ring is also broken.

The seller says that the tailgate needs adjustment to be fitted correctly.

Components under the hood remain original from the generator to the single snorkel air cleaner. The transmission is an automatic and the engine features Power Pac heads. In September of 2018 the car was given an oil and filter change, a new battery, had its fluids topped off, and had its headlights and dimmer replaced.
