The current owner acquired this 1956 Chevrolet Bel Air Nomad station wagon two years ago, and it had undergone a refurbishment approximately six years prior to their ownership. During the restoration process, the body was separated from the frame, and the car received a fresh coat of Twilight Turquoise and white paint. The interior, matching the exterior, was also rejuvenated.
Under the hood, a 383ci V8 engine was installed, paired with a 700R4 four-speed automatic transmission. Several aftermarket upgrades were added to enhance the vehicle, including air suspension, power disc brakes, a dual-reservoir master cylinder, and air conditioning.
Presently, this Nomad is available for sale through the selling dealer on consignment. It comes with a collection of receipts and restoration photographs, providing a comprehensive record of the work done on the car. Additionally, it holds a clean Washington title.
The selling dealer affirms that the vehicle’s body underwent separation from the frame, following which the exterior received a fresh coat of two-tone Twilight Turquoise and white. This restoration work was carried out approximately five to six years ago, and you can observe the resulting paintwork, exterior trim, and the Fisher body tag in the photo gallery provided below.
The car features black-painted steel wheels adorned with chrome-finished hubcaps and beauty rings. These wheels are fitted with wide whitewall tires. Additionally, the vehicle is equipped with Air Ride Technologies air suspension in both the front and rear. It also boasts power-assisted steering, disc brakes, and a dual-reservoir master cylinder.
The two-tone interior has been refreshed with body-color paintwork on the dashboard as well as body-matching seat covers and carpeting. A Vintage Air climate-control system has been added along with an audio system that utilizes an Autosound radio and Pioneer speakers.
A two-spoke steering wheel sits ahead of a column shifter and a horizontal 110-mph speedometer with an integrated five-digit odometer that shows just over 11k miles. True mileage is unknown.
The 383ci stroker V8 is mated to a GM 700R4 four-speed automatic transmission. Features include chrome-finished Chevrolet valve covers and an Edelbrock air-cleaner assembly. The seller states that the engine and transmission oil were recently changed.
