A dog owner was dealing with her Great Dane’s aggressive behavior, so she was absolutely shocked when the big dog fell in love with two tiny kittens! When Lisa Gerken decided to take in a pair of abandoned kittens to foster, she was really concerned about how her giant dog would react. She shared on social media that Winnie, her Great Dane, often had issues playing nicely with her other pets. Because of this, she was hesitant to introduce these small, fragile kittens to the large dog.
To everyone’s surprise, the Great Dane immediately embraced the kittens as if they were her own! Winnie’s attitude towards the little felines was unlike anything her owner had ever witnessed before. Lisa captured the sweetest moments on camera, showing the big dog gently watching over her new kitten friends. It was hard to believe that this was the same dog that once had problems being gentle!
As for the kittens, they appeared totally relaxed around Winnie in Lisa’s adorable video. Despite the huge size difference, the tiny kittens showed no fear of the Great Dane. They seemed comfortable being near the dog, whether it was during playtime or when they were napping together.
These kittens have truly had a life-changing effect on Winnie’s personality.
In another video, Lisa shared more details about their situation. She explained how her family had a tough time managing Winnie’s aggressive behavior toward the other pets in the house before the kittens came along. “So, when we saw this nurturing side of her with these two kittens, it just blew us away,” Lisa said.

Although Lisa is only fostering the kittens and they will eventually move on to a permanent home, she hopes to continue fostering more in the future. The impact these two kittens have had on Winnie has shown a whole new, loving side of her Great Dane.
