The mother dog and puppies are underweight and severely dehydrated

The sight of the desperate, starving mother dog and her struggling puppy was heartbreaking. Both were severely underweight and dehydrated, having been part of a homeless family that was never properly fed.

Unable to nourish her own child, the poor mother dog was in a frantic, distressed state. It was an intensely upsetting scene to witness. 

Bright hope for poor dogs

Thankfully, a kind-hearted Samaritan intervened, feeding the famished pair before transporting them to a veterinary clinic.

At the clinic, the vet, though shocked by the animals’ condition, was determined to provide the necessary care and treatment. Intravenous fluids and tonics were administered to the mother, who was too weak to even stand on her own. Extensive nursing and a safe, nurturing environment would be required for their recovery.

Previously, the destitute family had been forced to scavenge for scraps wherever they could. But now, having been rescued and placed in a foster home, the mother and her puppy are receiving the proper nutrition and attention they so desperately needed.

After just three months of dedicated care, the mother dog is steadily gaining weight and regaining her health. Her puppy is also thriving and developing well. This incredible transformation was made possible thanks to the intervention of the compassionate Samaritan and the efforts of the animal rescue organization, Abrigo Animais Aumigos.
