Hades lives in Mexico with his owner, Juan Jose P. Flores. A stray cat frequently visited their home, and Flores, with his kind heart, would leave food and water for her. Unbeknownst to Flores, his compassionate behavior was being observed by Hades.
One day, Flores heard a commotion near the back door where Hades usually stayed. Curious, he went to check and found Hades in a state of urgency. Flores told The Dodo: “He was desperate and making a lot of noise.”
Upon investigating, Flores discovered that Hades had generously offered his doghouse to the stray cat. What Flores learned next was even more astonishing—the stray cat was pregnant!
“He dragged a blanket over to the entrance of his house and settled outside the door,” Flores said. “She felt protected by him.” As the cat gave birth to two kittens, Hades remained vigilant, watching over and protecting her.
