Eventually, Bailey got the message and settled on the bed next to the new family, maintaining a respectful distance but staying close enough to assist if needed. He seemed to appoint himself as a guardian to the kittens.
One of the kittens even had the same coloring as Bailey, which made him beam with pride. As he sat next to his new “children,” his joy was palpable. Over time, the mama cat allowed Bailey to get closer, and one tiny kitten even sniffed him back, filling Bailey’s heart with immense joy.
As Bailey laid back, the kittens began to show curiosity about the big fluffy creature with the large nose. Bailey’s mom then picked up one of the kittens so Bailey could get a good sniff, and Bailey was smitten all over again.
