Motherless Kittens Stick Together During Uphill Battle

Two Calico kittens were found together beside a road, and since that moment, they have been inseparable. Sparkle Cat Rescue, a volunteer-driven organization in North Carolina, was notified about the kittens who were barely a day old. According to Sarah Kelly, a foster volunteer who spoke to Love Meow, the kittens were found motherless and in critical need of care. Immediately, arrangements were made to transport the kittens to a foster home where they faced significant challenges due to their fragile state and lack of maternal care.

Sarah undertook the responsibility of feeding them round-the-clock. The kittens were comfortably settled into a warm incubator. Sarah named them Sole and Luna, inspired by their distinct facial markings, symbolizing the sun and the moon. From the outset, Sole and Luna clung to each other for comfort and survival.

The circumstances of how they ended up motherless were unclear, but their mutual support was vital. Luna developed an eye infection early on, requiring additional attention. Throughout Luna’s recovery, Sole remained by her side, providing unwavering support.

Sarah observed that Sole was naturally joyful and protective, while Luna, though quieter and more reserved, was resilient and endearing. As they grew, the kittens began to explore their new environment from the safety of their playpen, always keeping a close watch on one another. If ever separated, they quickly sought each other out.

Sole’s affection for Luna was evident in how she cuddled and even hugged her sister during their naps and playtimes. They also had a teddy bear with which they both loved to snuggle. At three weeks old, under Sarah’s care, the kittens were thriving and developing playful and mischievous personalities. Their bond remained as strong as ever, ensuring they were never apart.

He Microwaved His Ex-Girlfriend's Kitten to Death and Threatened To Kill Her Next

A horrific case of animal cruelty and domestic violence unfolded last year in Fargo, North Dakota. The details are disturbing and tragic. The abuser was sentenced to prison, but we must ensure he never terrorizes another person or animal again.

As they continued to grow in foster care, it was clear that their journey together was just beginning. With lots of growth still ahead, their future home would surely be one where they could stay together forever, as Sarah and everyone involved in their rescue hoped.
