Motionless On The Cold Ground, The Pitifully Emaciated Body Of A Dog Evoked Profound Sadness

Today we received some relief information from a local in Chiang Mai, Thailand. They told us about their family dog, Khun, who had fallen sick nearly a month ago. They had been feeding him and giving him a little tonic to try and make him feel better, but nothing seemed to be working. I decided to travel over 100 km from where I was to get to this area, and it wasn’t easy. I had to ask a lot of locals to find Khun’s place, but luckily, it was right next to the main road. When I arrived, it was almost dark, and the family had been waiting for me for a long time.

As soon as I saw Khun, I knew his condition was quite serious. He was lying motionless on the cold ground, and his body was pitifully emaciated. If only I had met him earlier, he wouldn’t have been in this situation. According to the owner, Khun had been lying still since morning. In the previous days, he could even get up and walk a little, but now he seemed to be in a lot of pain.

I asked the owner about Khun’s previous condition and found out that he could be suffering from many diseases, including parasitic diseases of the intestinal tract, mycosis, and Canine distemper. It broke my heart to hear that Khun had been living in a storehouse, where he was often kept in captivity. Before examining Khun, I wanted to get more information from the owner.

After a preliminary explanation, we began to over-examine Khun’s entire body. It was clear that he was suffering from anemia, dermatitis, and body weakness. In addition, Khun had diarrhea, and his mouth had a very bad smell. The doctor diagnosed him with a stomach problem, but we didn’t know what he had endured to be this exhausted.

I was so nervous last night because there were times when Khun’s heart almost stopped. He vomited and had bloody, foul-smelling diarrhea, but so far, everything was fine, and his mood was good. I bought some serum to give to Khun to keep him hydrated, and thank God he didn’t vomit or pee blood anymore.

Khun had a long road to recovery ahead of him, but I had hope that he would be able to overcome this challenge. I spent a lot of time with him, feeding him and giving him the necessary injections to help him feel better. The family was grateful for my help, and I was happy to see that Khun was slowly getting better.

After a few days, Khun’s condition improved significantly. He was able to get up and walk around, and his appetite had returned. I was so relieved to see that he was on the path to recovery. The family promised to take better care of him from now on, and I made sure to give them some advice on how to do so.

Khun’s journey to recovery was not an easy one, but it was worth it. Seeing him happy and healthy again made all the hard work and long nights worth it. I hope that more people will be inspired to help animals in need, and that we can all work together to make the world a better place for all creatures great and small.
