This sad story has so far warmed thousands of hearts around the world. The message is extremely important and shows how a dog’s trust in man is a beautiful gift that should always be cherished!

A family decided to adopt a dog. He soon became an important member of the family and enjoyed to play with the youngsters.

The dog was exceptionally bright and a fast learner, so the family taught him several tricks. He did everything to make daddy, mom and the kids pleased with him. His sheer presence provided them delight.

Yet after a couple of weeks, the dog’s behavior turned weird. Every night, while the family would sleep, he sat motionless just outside the master bedroom door and peered in at mom and dad with his enormous brown eyes while they slept.

He, however, never sle slept. Instead, he sat in exactly the same location, the first to greet his owners when they woke up each and every morning.

The family had no explanation for their dog’s peculiar behavior and began to worry for their four-legged sweetheart.

They began to wonder whether he was unwell and took him to the vet for inspection.

But the vet could not provide provide a diagnosis. The family’s four-legged pal looked to be in wonderful health.

In a final desperate try, the family turned to the shelter from where they had adopted him. They questioned the personnel there at long – possibly could they be able to explain their dog’s unusual nighttime behavior.

What they subsequently found out about their beloved friend crushed their hearts into a thousand pieces.

It came out that the dog’s former owner had secretly risen at night onde day and brought her dog to the shelter. All the time, the dog slept deeply.

He was therefore never able to say farewell to his owner, his previous house, his old life. As he awakened, he found himself in new and unexpected circumstances. The sensation of dread he must have experienced… I would not wish onto my worst enemy.

Now in his new home, the poor animal was too terrified to shut his eyes at night — he could not risk losing his beloved family again. This made him unhappy, and gave him restless nights.

When the family was told of the dog’s terrible background, they could not keep back their emotions. They wanted urgently to give their beloved pet his confidence back.

The solution?

They put their dog in a basket, just beside their bed. This way, they could show their dog that they wanted him to be near to them — that he was a vital part of their family. That they would never forsake him.

It took the dog weeks before he could begin to feel comfortable and secure in his new home.

Finally, one night, the dog closed his eyes and went slumber. And he has slept quietly ever since, near to his loving family whom gave him the security he deserves.

A dog’s confidence is not something to play with! Thus, you must always really question yourself if you can take care of a dog — before you risk hurting its heart.
